Recipe For:

A Roll In The Hay Hot Crossed Buns Love

Ingredients:

1 Chef (equal parts sexy and carefree)

1 Pianist (equal parts uptight and endearing)
1/8 inch of drywall between their apartments
2 opinions on everything

Combine all ingredients, mix vigorously, and be prepared for an explosion of heat.

Pianist Ella Thomas is training for the competition of her life. Finally in an apartment of her own, she can practice from dawn till dusk.

But she didn't bet on the sexy and frustrating neighbor keeping her up all night - even if he does cook like a maestro and kiss like it’s his job.

Jake Matson is living his dream as Head Chef at one of the most popular restaurants in San Francisco. He's easy going, flirtatious and not looking for love. He didn't expect to be completely distracted by the girl next door, whose buttoned-up appearance hides the seductive firecracker underneath.

What happens when opposites attract? As their tension fires up, can they create a new kind of music together or will everything boil over?

Review

This was a gorgeous story and beautifully written! The main characters, Ella and Jake are both driven to succeed, but they approach life differently. Ella is shy and struggles with confidence. She is a strange contradiction, as Jake thinks, of what she shows the world and what is hidden within.

Jake is more of an open book with a welcoming heart, yet he also struggles to come out of the shadows and be recognized in his career for who he is and what he can do. He sees something in Ella that draws him to her, and he can’t deny the feelings he begins to have for her. They seem to be a match made in heaven, but can they get past their first (funny) meetings?

I was totally sucked in by Katie McCoy’s writing and felt as though I were right there with the characters – sharing all the nerves backstage, and the disappointment and annoyance when negativity surfaced around them. The ending was beautiful and left me completely satisfied. This was my first read from Katie McCoy, and it looks like I’ve discovered another favorite author to stalk!
